Charlie Frances Suggs Nelson was born on July 19, 1953, to loving parents, the late Ernestine and Charlie Suggs, Jr. in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a 1972 graduate of Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, FL. Charlie Frances found her passion in cooking and enjoyed Sundays in the kitchen with her mother and sisters. Charlie Frances made a career of cooking and was a long-time employee of Suncoast Manor where she worked as a cook. Raised in the traditions of unity and family by her parents, Charlie Frances maintained a strong bond between her daughters, siblings, grandchildren and family members. She enjoyed music and family gatherings. Charlie Frances was mild mannered and always looked her best. She was known for her fashion style and her trademark sunglasses. Charlie Frances departed this life on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Charlie Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and Charlie Suggs, spouse Sammie Nelson, her grandmother Mary, and siblings Albert, Willie Ray, Shirley and Michael. She leaves to cherish her memories: Children: Daughters Cindy Nelson and Bridgett Mays of St. Petersburg, FL; Grandchildren: Miquel Atkins, Quytesha Wiggins, James (MyShala) Wiggins, Devontae Wiggins, My'Kale Johnson, Christion Wooten and Erin Woods all of St. Petersburg, FL. She leaves ten great-grandchildren to cherish her memory; Brothers: Anthony Knight (Atlanta, Georgia), Gerald Suggs, Jeffery Suggs and James Webb (Brother-in-law) all of St. Petersburg, FL; and Sisters: Barbara McNeal, Gwendolyn Knight (Atlanta, Georgia), Rovena S. Webb, Linda S. Garvey, Ruby S. Hines and Patricia S. Walker. Charlie Frances also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to honor her memory.
